STEVEN’s review published on Letterboxd:
Finally caught up on Midnight Mass, and it's clear that this was built to be Mike Flanagan's best work in the genre. From the very beginning, this isolated island community felt frighteningly realistic, and once Hamish Linklater steps in, the tension only rises from there. Some really fantastic character building that draws you in by the minute, even if it starts off sluggish, and an atmosphere of dread that doesn't stop growing. Remarkable in its portrayal of addiction and faith, or lack thereof, with some delightful twists and bloody horror elements sprinkled all throughout. Huge thank you to Netflix for letting me screen the first two episodes early!
