I love that Ridley is still grinding out historical epics, a genre that the rest of Hollywood gave up on in the 90’s. The scale and filmmaking and performances here are good, but the script really lets it down. The character writing was super weak, I just spent 2 and a half hours with Moses and know almost nothing about him. Ridley went all in on the plagues though which is cool.
