I've learned that the appeal of the movie for others is largely "wow look at those outfits", but for me it's just interesting to see all the ways in which filmmaking has both changed and stayed the same. Sometimes it's hard for me to enjoy movies because I'm constantly evaluating different aspects of them, and it's even easier to do when the movie is as campy as White Christmas.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003
I gave all the LotR movies a 4.5/5 because they're all really good, but none of them necessarily pushed me into the realm of "wowowowow cool". Repeat viewings might, if only because I spent so much of these films pausing them and asking Mal questions. Still, a great series, a worthwhile watch, and one that holds up two decades later.

Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa 2005
Honestly, I have no idea how I could properly review this movie without spoiling huge elements of the series. With that in mind, I'll say "wait for the video review coming to YouTube" and give it a 3 1/2 stars.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2020
“A movie based on Sonic the Hedgehog” is a concept that feels destined to fail, but man... they did it! In a world of subpar licensed video game films, Sonic manages to stay true to his character and source material.
