Love, Death & Robots: Pop Squad 2021
“What if it was someone’s job to kill babies” is the most prototypical Love Death Robots stupid story pitch you can get. That it also sets up a cartoonishly disparate class dynamic which it fundamentally doesn’t understand and it fetishizes the only Asian character to the point she looks like a complete alien has me thinking an AI generated this animation out of all the previous LDR shorts. Unlike previous questionable shorts though this one has a really bland style defined by the buildings, cars, and absolutely nothing else having a 1940s-inspired aesthetic.
