I Saw the Devil

I Saw the Devil ★★★½

I love a good vigilante movie and this was a pretty decent one. I didn’t always love the ride, but I ended up liking the destination. The movie as a whole is pretty good but there are times were I would have made different choices. For example, in the beginning of the movie when the police find the fiancé’s head, everyone broke out in hysteria. Shouldn’t the police be trained to act differently? Was this Korea’s first ever homicide? Then they put the head in a box and someone drops the box and the head rolls out. It was borderline ridiculous. However, I don't want to take away from the film because most other scenes were very well executed.

Revenge for his slained fiancé is the driving force behind the plot. He doesn't only want to see her killer dead, he wants to torture him the entire 141 minute run-time. The acting is very good and the violent scenes are very believable.
I would love to see Quentin Tarantino do a remake of this film. Anyone else?
