One of the few real revolutionary films after the 2000s. Gus Van Sant directs the movie in a videogame near method and picks some charachters to play russian roulette with. In the end there are only two who don’t survive the empty spaces around them and inside them. That’s why - picked by Van Sant’s russian roulette - they decide instead to destroy all of the void that surrounds them. The only thing left is the sky, where everything seems harmonizing. So maybe there’s a way out of the oppressive image borders.

    Ocean's Twelve

After the first movie who only played in radicalizing the heist concept by using archetypes, the second Ocean’s totally revolts his prequel while also doing an anti heist-movie. The heist is not only a non-heist but it’s also told in flashback and deliberately anticlimatic. And the rest of the movie goes from parody to postmodernist metacomedy. It’s one of the funniest and most underrated operations done on the genre.
