Not enough Brie Larson :/
Kong: Skull Island, unlike 2014’s Godzilla, is non-stop monster filled action. The VFX on Kong and the island’s other various monsters are staggering and the fight choreography is grand and incredibly entertaining.
The excessive amount of characters is frustrating and they are all very generic, though John C. Reilly manages to outshine the entire cast. However, the plot is just substantial enough to justify this epic two hour creature fest. The film delivers on the thrills it promised and effectively introduces Kong into the Monsterverse.
That after credits scene was cheese, but it did get me excited for Godzilla: King of the Monsters 😱
