The way the score came in when Lil Rel handed LaKeith the fake badge 🤯🤯🤯
This was an absolute spectacle. Daniel Kaluuya’s performance was electrifying. The costuming and color grading was gorgeous. Everything about this film was incredible.
Shaka King’s direction perfectly depicts the immensity of the story and the various tensions and emotions throughout. One of the most powerful aspects of the film is how ambiguous William O’Neal’s feelings toward the Black Panther Party are. Some his actions suggest that he may have come to believe in what they were doing while others suggest that he was simply doing as he was told and really good at selling it. Nonetheless, LaKeith Stanfield brings the role to life with the astonishing talent that’s come to be expected of him, and makes the character easy to love or easy to hate depending on how you feel about his role in history.
This is definitely the best film I’ve seen this awards season.
