Crazy to think they made a sequel to my favourite cheesiest hockey movie and I haven’t seen it til now.. I know why now. There’s so much to unpack and could write a full-ass paper on it if I wanted to

Every. Single. Character.  is less than a hollow shell of their former characters. (will split up characters into paragraphs.)

Doug Glatt is somehow smarter when he needs to be a dumber when he needs to be there’s no consistency. In the…

Two of the reasons why Denis Villeneuve is undoubtably my favourite director:

    1. His aesthetic is calm and patient in the midst of something bigger, something unknown, more chaotic than the characters he uses. Almost mirroring life.

    2. At the core of all of the stories he captures, I love how they are all about identity. In Polytechnique, does your trauma decide who you are? In Incendies, does your past define who you are? In Enemy, does having a child…

I couldn’t wait any longer, pulled trigger on the Youtube Rent. Ever since seeing a trailer for this very early in the year, it’s been my most anticipated of the year. And it pays off.

It’s one of the most creative, heartwarming and thought provoking movies of the year. Edson Oda builds such an impressive world here that feels so authentic, all his characters are unique in their actions and arguments which makes each interaction feel so natural.

My sister must’ve got Zazie Beetz’s spirit because she also like poking holes in everything I’ve ever said or done.

    The Emperor's New Groove

    Certified Classic.

The 3rd act, the climax in particular is actually perfect. The right amount of action and, not only the amount of humour, but the mix of different types of humour as well.

My provincial government spends $30 million dollars every single year to try and take down and protest against anti-oil and gas media.

$30 million. Tax payer (me) money. Every year.

The Oil and Gas industry is our biggest component to GDP/economy but the current government is so stubborn in their stance of not budging to change anything in the industry in terms of environmentalism.

But regardless I only watched this after our premier held a press conference telling us that…

“I can tell you one thing. Never think that you ain’t supposed to be there cause you wouldn’t be there if you wasn’t supposed to be there”

An endearing and cementing love letter from a grandson to his grandfather that transcends generations, ethnicity and even music. This hit me hard. It was either the differences in pedals or grandfather focusing on health joking that in 10 years he’ll make his final trip that sent the tears flowing idk. I’m gonna watch it again.
