  Totally flipped upside down in a second viewing. Idk I think hayao animating his mom back to life to finally let him know he’s “a good boy” is probably on that chihiro kohaku river upper echelon

  Genuinely a ground-shifting third act. Re-inhabits how I dwelled on every Shea Wigham scene and the lurching evolution of the film’s lust. Each use of the gun too, becomes in hindsight less humorous and more of a silent cry for help (and when it doesn’t come, an escape then)
