Bittersweet Filipino romcom from Mike de Leon that proves that fresh off his portentous ghost story debut The Rites of May that he can also handle the lighter stuff just as capably - lovely use of music and color throughout (the pop of the red car and umbrella against the lush green landscapes lead to some great compositions!) and the central relationship stuff is never less than completely charming, with the split screen phone call and the later wordless relationship consummation being two real highlight sequences.
Definitely looking forward to watching more de Leon stuff now!
