CΓ‘el Keegan when talking about how the Matrix trilogy can act as a Trans narrative said something that was playing in my head for the whole second half of this film, β€œthe concept of discrete identities is everywhere challenged and exceeded [within the series] […] [the Wachowskis have created] a marriage of speculative narrativity and emblematic aesthetics that teaches audiences about what it might feel like to experience more than one body, to move through time and space outside of…

First time re-watching this in over a year, and it stands up still 100%.

This is gonna be a looong review, so strap in...

Something I noticed this time round that i missed in the past is the fact that it uses the old cowboy trope from the 60s of black hat / white hat. Jack wore a black hat the first and last time he met Ennis, and Ennis wore white. This shows Ennis perception of the two's love.…

felt a little empty. none of the new characters i really connected with so didn't really give a fuck if they died tbh pff.

some good moments. good jokes. could have happily watched Gale and Sydney for hours.

the best bit about it by far was the legacy characters,, would recommend just rewatching Scream rather than watching.... Scream (you know what I mean)

    Scre4m
    Scream 2

had to watch this twice back to back at work.
got to admit I was a little bored second time through, still warm and charming but probably not one for repeat veiwing.

still worth the 4 stars imo, Judie Dench is brilliant in this.

edit: a good few scenes were really nice. family, community, and childhood innocence.

I've got to stop taking comedy recommendations off of straight cis guys

his edgy humour is neither edgy nor humorous. he just spends 50 mins patting himself of the back for how funny he thinks his jokes are, but it is just 100 back to back cringey Reddit style one-liners. his "career enders" aren't edgy,,,, they just aren't funny - guess that's also a good way to end your career as a comedian tho lmao.
