Power to the people!
I did think that this film was intense with some powerful and gritty performances from all involved.
I'm just not sure if it hit the right notes from a historical political perspective. Both Hampton and O'Neal were younger then the actors playing them in reality. O'Neal was only 17 when the FBI started controlling him, for me thats a different story and feeling then what was given off by this movie. Anyways, I won't get too much into the political side of things.
Naturally, I compared this in my mind to the earlier 90's Black Panther movie which I remember being solid generally, except I think I didn't like the end if I remember rightly.
This film is definitely worth a watch, but yes I would try the 90's one too asap and look in more depth about the whole Panthers story.
Thanks for listening.
Cheers.
