Rocket is given a new set of nicknames and they are fantastic. Here are some examples:
- trash panda: by peter quill
- triangle face monkey: by ego
- fox: by nebula
- crabby puppy: by mantis
- rat: by yondu
My personal favorites are trash panda and triangle face monkey. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a lot better than I remember. I bumped it up from a 7/10 to an 8/10 - a well deserved 8/10. Drax's laugh can cure depression. Nebula and Gamora becoming friends is so wholesome. Yondu yelling to the world "I'M MARRY POPPINS Y'ALL" is peak cinema. There aren't many sequel films that are just as good if not better than the original. The Guardians franchise is no exception. The new set of songs of Awesome Mix Vol. 2 are full of bangers. Baby Groot is the most precious thing in any MCU film (besides Scott Lang duh). As always - Tyler Bates's score is amazing and you can hear some great new themes soar through the film. Kurt Russel is a great villain.
The scene where Peter Quill tells Yondu that he looks like Mary Poppins - Yondu asks "is he cool?" and you hear Quill say "hell yeah he's cool"... but if you look and focus on his mouth - he is actually mouthing the words "fuck yeah he's cool" but they put the "hell yeah" sound over it. I thought that was interesting - I would have liked to hear the original audio.
