While discussing the queen that is carey mulligan, victor recommended I check this movie out, which I did immediately. Steve McQueen's Shame is interesting, to say the least. I was fully expecting some incest vibes but none of that was the case. The subject matter of children who are victims of sexual abuse is discussed through the actions and emotional distress the now adults are facing in their day to day lives. This piece is incredible in achieving such an unnerving sense of doom as you truly do not know what Brandon is capable of and what in fact is the truth between him and his estranged sister.
I truly adore cinema that pushes boundaries and tackles hard subject matters such as addiction in ways that you aren't even aware of until the credits start rolling.
