normally i'm down for directors "just doing shit" movies after finding awards success but jesus. insanely cruel and detestable, shallow and meaningless. the third act of this has all the thematic and narrative subtlety of a 2010s disney movie's twist villain reveal. should've left this one in the drafts or got an actual writer to polish it up. it looked pretty and i liked the music. thats about as far as i can go because i think i'm close to hating everything about this.

this is literally better call saul for tumblr users and i ate up every second. never thought id say this but let that man francis lawrence cook.

giving credit where credit is due i have to hand it to them because this movie is fairly far from exactly what you’d think it would be, and i really like it when it strays away from that formula. however on a quality level this is exactly as good as youd think it would be. i know i should be expecting more at this point considering how much good cbm content has come out as of late but this was way more entertaining than most of the last five of these despite all its flaws. good sleepover movie though. iman vellani you will always be famous

one of the most horrifying and important films of the century. a harrowing masterpiece and nearly flawless. good grief marty.
