  this mf took voltaire's "si dieu n'existait pas, il faudrait l'inventer" to heart and then some. i was not prepared for the film's brilliance, the superficial assumptions of a lack of continuity, and the richness of the color. there's a complicated interwoven anti-civilization thread to this. if you're committing to watch this, do it with the whole of your being. watch it with the eyes on the palms of your hands wide open.

  it would be easy for most people to dismiss mona bergeron as a drifter, but i see a part of her in me desperate to get out, to not give a fuck, to truly drift like an iceberg on the sea of humanity. beautifully shot, perfectly paced.
