Liam Stephens’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is without a doubt the best MCU movie ever made and I don’t think I’m ever going to change my mind. Without spoilers this was everything you could possibly ask for in a Spider-Man movie, a child’s dreams literally come true. The characters were so fleshed out and in my opinion Green Goblin was the highlight of all the villains and I definitely appreciate him way more in the original movie now. Like it’s crazy how unreal his performance was and he felt like the Joker that’s how insane he was. I would even go on to say that his performance in this movie is better than the original as well. Nonetheless all the villains were fantastic and they definitely were done their justice. As for main characters, Tom cannot be called Iron Boy Jr anymore. My guy has proved himself so much and the final battle will literally give you chills that’s how breathtaking it is. The relationship between Ned, MJ and Peter was elaborated on so much and it didn’t feel wasted at all. There’s so many good moments, throwbacks and symbolism’s that will make you as a viewer, cry, laugh and be extremely disturbed. Basically what I’m trying to say is that this is the PERFECT Spider-Man movie and nothing comes close. As someone who grew up with Spider-Man, seeing this is a wild dream come true. All the hype is totally deserved for this movie and you need to watch it right now. I’m still in shock from the ending because of how emotional it is, however see it for yourself because I will not spoil it for anybody. This is one of my best theatre experiences next to Avengers: Endgame, and I love going to Marvel movies in theatres seeing everyone’s reactions to the same things I love. In conclusion, this movie is a superhero masterpiece and I think could even be compared to The Dark Knight at this point. Obviously TDK is still on top, I’m just really excited right now. Please watch this in a cinema and get the full experience, because it’s well worth it and a top tier superhero film.
