    A musical for the apocalypse.
Ariana DeBose and Mike Faist steal the whole damn show and I hope they have long, fantastic careers after this.
Spielberg is in top notch form here with sequences and moments that had me falling in love with the screen. This is one gorgeous looking movie. And the orchestral music was just a pure gift to listen to. My ears were in heaven for the majority of the runtime.

I missed the screening for this film last year at LA's Animation is Film Fest because the day it screened, I found my eldest dog bleeding from the nose. A trip to the vet later we found out he likely had nasal cancer. After 18 years of spending my lifetime with that little boy, I lost him a week after.

Visceral and stimulating to an extreme. Tsukamoto's hyper-active Tokyo Fist hits it's violence with cathartic vigor. For every character about to explode from the inside out, there's a release presented in chaotic editing, human yelling, and neon body horror.
I love the way Tsukamoto shoots Tokyo in his films; Tokyo feels like it's synthetically alive. What should feel like cold, blue concrete instead feels like sidewalks and buildings made of silver flesh with bright, thick blood flowing underneath.

Still as effective on second watch.
Seeing those kids brings me to tears. How’s it possible for life to be horrifying, miraculous, overwhelming, and incredible.
