“Scream” é um triunfo absoluto no gênero de terror, o suspense e o toque de nostalgia é sempre uma experiência verdadeiramente icônica. Dirigido por Wes Craven, este clássico de 1996 continua sendo uma obra-prima que definiu o gênero e cativa todos que assistem até hoje.
Um lado particularmente incrível do filme é capacidade de homenagear simultaneamente os filmes de terror que vieram antes dele, enquanto brilhantemente tem suas próprias ideias e narrativa. A natureza autorreferencial do filme adiciona uma camada de sagacidade, tornando-o um destaque entre os filmes do mesmo gênero que vieram antes dele. "Scream" is an absolute triumph in horror cinema, the suspense and the touch of nostalgia is always a truly iconic experience. Directed by Wes Craven, this 1996 classic remains a masterpiece that defined the genre and captivates everyone who watches to this day.
A particularly incredible side of the film is the ability to simultaneously honor the horror films that came before it, while brilliantly having its own ideas and narrative. The self-referential nature of the film adds a layer of wit, making it a highlight among the films of the same genre that came before it. From the iconic opening scene to the climax, the movie keeps me every time I watch, extremely focused.
One of the film's greatest strengths is its well-designed characters, brought to life by an exceptional cast that includes Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette. The portrait of Campbell of Sidney Prescott, the resilient and ingenious final girl, is relatable and empowering, elevating the character well beyond any other character in horror movies.
The Ghostface mask has become a lasting symbol of popculture, instantly recognizable. The chilling voice behind the mask, skillfully performed by Roger L. Jackson, it's still one of my favorite things in the movie (the voice make me ho-).
Finally, the impact of “Scream”on the genre is not exaggerated, the film remains indescribable for any horror enthusiast and movie lovers. Scream is iconic and a rare jewel of the horror genre, a work of art.
