2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
The evolution of man in relation to the advancement of technology and the possibilities of life off earth. Classical music is played over larger than life sci-fi space travel technology, creating a juxtaposition between the past and future. The monolith, shaped like the aspect ratio of the film, offers a defined wall between viewer and screen, exemplified through the visuals at the end of the film. The monolith influences advances in man kind. Everything in this movie is carefully planned out, fitting from a perfectionist. A thought provoking visually splendid masterpiece.
