The most interesting film where I didn't know what the heck was going on. Not that I was confused or lost story wise, but more like I was wondering why?
Performances...were...masterful. Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman were just fantastic. Joaquin has really grown on me as an actor, sure the guy's weird off camera, but who isn't? (that might be an understatement) But after 'Her' and now this, I might be going back and watching his other roles. Same with Hoffman, I've realized too late now that he is such a great actor. PTA crafted a weird film. Engaging mostly just because of the performances.
And I’m pretty sure that Jesse Plemons is Philip Seymour Hoffman’s actual son.
