“Born from the heart of a Panther...”
Absolutely magnetic. Certainly an incredible performance showcase of the two leads, Kaluuya and Stanfield, who are precisely as good as you’ve heard, if not even better- but honestly there’s a lot to love. Be it the energetic editing and brisk pacing, the fantastic cinematography and color grading that lend these environments a wonderful richness, or the invigorating and caustic nature of its scenes that serve as a fiery screed on preaching truth to power. It’s a tight, lean drama that’s setting, poignancy, and script elevate it to being more than the sum of its already impressive parts. Great on all fronts, devastating as a work of art, and impressively taught as a genre piece that just about anybody can enjoy.
