Synecdoche, New York

Synecdoche, New York ★★★★

I saw a guy trying to explaining what the film was about, what the themes meant and the ending as well. He ended the the twenty minutes long part one with saying that you should form your own interpretation, because; "After all, it is a film about you."

I would be lying if I didn't say that I had been expecting a five star experience, but then again I appreciate it for what it is and I loved it, but even though it affected me and left me sad, something just felt wrong. I have no idea of it maybe was Kaufman's vision in the first place. On a first time watch, I felt like the film was a bit too quirky for such a depressing film. Even though it's two hours long, it was like everything went so fast, but that's what life does, right?
My 1,000th log on Letterboxd :) Crazy to think about since I experienced The Hustler, I have doubled all the films I have watched.
