Symon’s review published on Letterboxd:
It’s impossible not to be enthralled—especially with Viola Davis leading the charge.
Make no mistake, this is a big, bloated, broad, overly convenient blockbuster. But it’s directed with true panache and everyone brings all kinds of heart to it.
This type of story not being driven by the white man’s perspective is extremely refreshing—even if I do like my films a little more intimate feeling.
