Maybe not as idiosyncratic or thrilling as Gore Verbinski's two sequels, but the tight storytelling and world-building here is so satisfying. Jack Sparrow's character entrance is still as iconic as ever. As the years go on, The Curse of the Black Pearl remains a timeless adventure film - a theme park IP vehicle that stands tall as an entertaining popcorn muncher.
