  don't really understand how that was a big box office failure, it's for sure a very good, big entertaining ambitious movie which will earn its success over time.

  The directing is a big exuberant controlled chaos, 3 hours full and fast of non-stop music, vibrant colors, visuals, and extremely dynamic camera movements. A rushy detailed mess.
  Some excessive and spectacular imagery, reflecting the opulence of the 20s.

  Even if there are some stunning shots and color use, the characters, the acting, the special effects and the music were odd. It seems clear that it's a deliberated choice. It looks like it takes some codes of animes and applies them to a real movie.
