• The Notebook

    The Notebook

So well crafted, so well acted and so beautifully charming.
But it is too obvious and predictable.
    The ending is devastating..

  • Avatar

    Still my best theater experience.

  • A Quiet Place Part II

    A Quiet Place Part II

    The opening sequence is incredible.
The fact that the characters split in 3 groups offers a great dynamic and it cuts back and forth between the point of views almost as if one group's actions provoked the other group's.
    It sounds amazing as well.
Great to be back in theaters for this movie.

  • Godzilla vs. Kong

    Godzilla vs. Kong

It's by any means a good movie, the plot is almost non-existant, the characters are caricatures, the jokes don't really work and if you make the mistake of trying to make sense out of something that is happening you immediately will be out of the movie.

BUT.. It is absolutely epic and it looks beautiful, sounds even better and JunkieXL (he is everywhere right now) delivers again.
I mean the movie's title says it all and you get what you signed up for.
    I completely loved it.

  • Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers

    Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers

It's really fun and even if it's low budget it manages to take advantage of what it has to give a great horror - comedy slasher.
The dynamic of the killer being also a counselor delivers some great set pieces that are so funny.
Pamela Springsteen is excellent in the role and has so much fun.

  • Zack Snyder's Justice League

    Zack Snyder's Justice League

It looks beautiful, sounds amazing, the score by JunkieXL is powerful, the build-up and the stakes are great, Steppenwolf is badass, Wonder Woman is a beast in this, Cyborg deserves more and please give Batfleck his movie.
Not one bit is to throw away, which is a lot to achieve in a 4 hours run.
An epic movie that doesn't disappoint at all and should get sequels.
We need to see Darkseid now..

  • Sorcerer

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Holy fucking shit! That was insane.
I think I was shocked almost every 10 minutes. The first half is a character piece that manages to introduce 3 very different and yet very similar people who each have had a powerful experience in the past.
The second half is a true nightmare that feels so real and terrifying that I was on the edge of my seat for the entire sequence.
The bridge scene, the tree that blocks the road, the completely unexpected explosion of the first truck due to a tire pop..
It was something else and is definitely a top quality movie.

  • Point Break

    Point Break

    Really fun and fleshed-out.
It tries to tackle on many different stories and the plot gets a little confusing at times but the overall feeling of it works well.
The on-foot chase sequence after the robbery is amazing.

  • Pacific Rim

    Pacific Rim

Not a good movie at all.
Terrible plot, empty emotional range, basic acting and overall exhausting action and visuals.
I am usually able to see through these things and simply enjoy the fun but this one was too bad.
    The 4k looks stunning.

  • Predator

That long shot of the blood dripping down, leading to the corpse on top of the tree.
    Arnold at his best.
    The cast.
    The Predator himself.
    The score by Alan Silvestri.
The one-on-one fight at the end.

  • The Breakfast Club

    The Breakfast Club

This manages to reach such high levels of character understanding and development.
They feel so different and still have so many common problems.
Bender is by far my favorite character of them all but they each have something I can relate to.
One of the best conversations I've ever seen on screen at the end when they are all sitting in circle.

  • Nightcrawler

It's pretty much perfect and Jake Gyllenhaal is terrifying in this.
