Mark's loneliness could be felt so much towards the last 15 minutes of the movie.
He is the world's youngest billionaire, but had to lose his best friend on the way there. (Speaking from the movie)
Only the lucky are fortunate to recieve deep friendship, fucking that up is just stupid and egoistical.
