Bullitt ★★★★

McQueen is fine, of course, but we all know who the stars of this one are. A '68 Mustang GT Fastback and a Dodge Charger. Literally flying over the San Francisco hills, scraping bottom, shooting sparks, burning rubber, in one of the best filmed car chases of all time. The story is boiler plate cop drama, and fine for what it is, but it's mainly background noise as we wait for that cool rearview mirror shot in the Charger, when McQueen's Mustang appears and the chase is on.
The finale in the airport, running under taxiing jets, and through the terminal is also gripping, but regardless of all the things that can be done with mini-cams and CGI today, this is still the GOAT for me.
