  • Nope

    What’s a bad miracle?

Yep! Signs meets Jaws, Peele emulates Spielberg and Shyamalan for this neo western sci fi horror spectacle. Looks like third time is the charm, this is his best film so far. Nope, not of planet earth? This could have been called ‘Don’t Look Up’ (you’ll see what I mean when you watch Nope) if that other film didn’t exist. Brownie points for including the Akira bike slide.

    The Batman

Fear is a tool. When that light hits the sky, it's not just a call. It's a warning. To them.

The Road to The Batman: March 2016, a draft was completed for Ben Affleck’s Batman film titled The Batman. Joe Manganiello was confirmed to play Deathstroke the antagonist of this film along with an Arkham asylum breakout to Batgirl showing up to help Batman. After experiencing Joss Whedon on the JL reshoots, Affleck steps down as director in January 2017. Ridley…

Sorry Wnay Wnay, this wasn’t it. One of the slowest 90 min films I’ve ever seen, lazy, boring, zero suspense, chemistry and mystery for something trying to be mysterious. You know when you open a bottle of Pepsi and you leave it sitting there for a while, then you come back to it and it tastes flat. That’s this film.

    Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

    Big atonement for big sins.

Other than being a tad confusing with the non linear structure, Lady Vengeance is another brilliant film from Park Chan-wook, you can’t fault the filmmaking aspects here. The way music is used, how every character was introduced all had their own unique tone, this is the best shot film from him. Every frame had such intricate details, mostly all the characters were kept in one frame, its composition is masterly executed from Chung Chung Hoon…

A great man doesn’t seek to lead, he is called to it.

Now with 10 films under his belt, Denis Villeneuve has once again proven he is the king of modern sci fi and one of the best filmmakers working today. It was one of my most anticipated of the year (the other being Last Night in Soho) and it delivered, it’s everything I expected. If you loved Blade Runner 2049 then you’ll love Dune Part One; it’s the same…

With great power comes great responsibility.

Much like The Last Jedi, NWH picks up exactly where the previous film ended. They did a good job at how Peters identity being revealed affected him and everyone around him. Obviously they get a very good lawyer.. I really liked Zendaya as MJ in this, Ned takes a backseat and MJ is used more, she’s Peters support in this and Zendaya gave her best performance in the trilogy, Zendaya & Tom’s chemistry is passionately…
