The whole time I was watching this, I thought: “will these two girls be great tennis players later in life, all I know about them is they are 2 of the best tennis players of all time.” It’s funny watching this cause I know where it’s going to end (and continue) for Serena and Venus, but the movie was still enjoyable thanks to some great performances and a solid sports movie about tennis. Will Smith definitely deserves all the praise he has received for his role in this film.

I’m not the biggest fan of Marvel team up movies, Guardians is about the biggest team up that I usually enjoyed (and only the first one out of those two). Eternals was pretty enjoyable though, and while so much of this movie is nonsense, it’s great looking nonsense with great work from Chloé Zhao, who really is gonna be a director whose movies I always watch because she makes great stuff about human connection. This is the most out of…

This is low budget as hell, but they use that to create a story that is heartwarming, romantic, and beautiful. The acting isn’t the best, but it more than makes up for its cliched fight with its more tender moments.

I’m not the biggest fan of the Ghostbusters series. I’ve only seen the first two and that was years ago. I’m not tempted to ever rewatch the movies, so it came as a bit of a shock to me that I was kinda excited for this movie. This movie is okay to good, and while it is enjoyable, I wish it went a bit further diving into how silly this whole concept is. It’s weird, because I wonder if the…

This is a frustrating doc in a lot of ways. It focuses a lot on these 3 families, and each of them have their own tragic backgrounds about why they fled to Sweden. We learn about their kids having Resignation Syndrome, but that’s about it. Their characters are defined by this syndrome that is starting to effect more and more kids. The doc decides to show a narrow focus of it, and there was an opportunity to do a deeper…

I hate that I’m rating this so low. I’ve heard nothing except excellent thing about this movie for years and years, and I finally watch it to discover that it just wasn’t for me. The animation does look nice, but I was let down by some weaker characters and plot elements that kept me from getting further hooked by this movie. I was left confused at times until it all became clear, but there are still elements which I don’t…
