Zack Snyder's Justice League

Zack Snyder's Justice League

Snyder’s Justice League is definitely an improvement from the atrocity that was Whedon’s version and does fix and improve questionable choices that were made the first time around. However, it, unfortunately, is still reminiscent of what Whedon “tried” to fix in the first place. To me, Whedon’s version felt like the SparkNotes summary of what Snyder’s intended film was supposed to be, and while the summary was not accurate and lacked a lot of crucial elements, it was still trying to condense the source material that already existed. Whedon’s shorten and condensed two-hour take didn’t work as it practically cut all the storylines and character development out. But Snyder’s intended and full-cut also doesn’t work as it is way too bleak, long, and slow-paced, and it makes sense why WB’s wanted to try and condense this film into something more palatable and mainstream. So I ultimately didn’t enjoy or care for Snyder’s Justice League as most other people have. Nevertheless, it was still an overall interesting experience witnessing a director's cut of a movie that was only released because of online communities putting pressure on a studio. And that’s something that’s never happened before, well, to this extent. I was going to end this by saying that no one asked for this, but that's not true in the slightest.
