Get yourself a guy who charmingly smirks, reads novels and understands muslin. Oh how I adore J.J. Feild as Mr Tilney.
I once went to an outdoor theatre production of Sense and Sensibility and the program boasted that the artistic director had penned an original adaptation of the novel….but the script actually ended up being a word for word copy of Emma Thompson’s excellent screenplay (the purloined script didn’t help them, it was a very dull and overacted production).
There might not be crying in baseball but there was crying in my lounge room when the Rockford Peaches were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, and then broke into a rousing version of their team song.
I really am a sucker for the ‘older versions of characters reminiscing about their lives/cut to flash back mode’ framing device (also used to great effect in Now and Then).
Glad I have finally seen this and corrected a terrible movie oversight.
