    Has a bit more on its mind than your usual HK cop movie. The upfront nature of the corruption on both sides was pretty surprising. It also ends up being pretty sad, with a shockingly heartbreaking little twist near the end. I do wish it was longer as the relationship between Yen and the others felt a bit rushed, but what does that really matter when the last few fights slap so hard.

He's definitely got a visual type (Jessie Buckley-ish) though the women differ radically in interests and fields of expertise. Regardless, they all accept his invitation to visit his parents' house at some point near the beginning of their relationship. While most filmmakers would display the repetitious nature of Jake's actions through the one consistently present character (Jake himself), we see years of different women synthesised…
