When any film begins with Richard Widmark with *that* scowl on his face then you know that some shit is about to go down.
The opening of The Last Wagon is remarkable outside of that, though. A cat-and-mouse chase that sees Widmark captured by a vicious sheriff, it then gives way to a power play dynamic as they bump into some travelling "Christers". This was actually an interesting film to watch back-to-back with the inferior Run of the Arrow asβ¦
