Why do I even get excited for remakes?

This is the first movie I went to the theater to see post pandemic, and it pains me to say this was a messy disappointment. The opening credits were creatively done, the atmosphere seemed to be there, but by the end the origin of this version of candy man lacked power and purpose. This movie should not be considered a reboot or remake due to the reliance on referencing the original. The actors did the best they could with such a pretentious and shallow script. Ultimately unoriginal, disjointed and thoroughly purposeless.

The only movie I have ever cheered at when a 6 year old girl was spat on. Must watch!
