This was fine. I thought it looked great like all movies set in the PNW. But ultimately, it’s biggest failure was that it was a hodgepodge of elements from better movies thrown together like a dish that Robin Feld himself would make: you take a dash of John Wick, a sprig of Mandy, a big heaping of hock of every widowed male who kills themself by living away from society (SO MANY MOVIES), and for some reason, a sprinkling of Ratatouille.
Hell, even the most original part of the movie was a restaurant worker Fight Club and even that was done in The King of Staten Island.
I did love the scene between the chef and Robin, it felt like a Portlandia sketch!
I am interested in seeing the director’s next movie, but the best I can say is I liked a few parts and it didn’t feel like a complete waste of time.
