    This animated version of the masterpiece of a novella written by George Orwell really highlights the tragic tale of the peaceful gay love affair between Boxer the horse and Benjamin the donkey.

    Not since Bert and Ernie who reside in an undisclosed apartment somewhere on Sesame Street, has there been a more tender portrayal of two best friends and lovers.

    When Benjamin is chasing the wagon headed to the knackers down the road, you can feel the heartbreak in his desperate braying.

    I was saddened to see the complete under-representation of green people in this film.

    Shame on you, James Cameron.

    Almost an hour long, this doc shows behind the scenes of the process of making the unique film "DOGVILLE".

    Lots of talk that this was a tough shoot, but it doesn't look all that tough from this doc. Some actors pushing back a bit and the director running into a few issues and having to deal with a few temperamental actors... but overall, not all that explosive. At least, the doc shows it that way.

    Instead of a set, there are simply markings on the ground outlining the various buildings and who lives there, etc. There are several set pieces as "indicators" of walls, doors, furniture, etc. Very theatre-oriented.

    The plot is slightly derivative of Friedrich…

    This film is why I'm always a bit freaked out when I'm having "tubby time" and have to dip my head (or ears) beneath the water. I go into a desperate state of fear that I will come back up transformed into an extra from the "Planet of the Apes" films.

    Thanks, Ken Russell.

    Kicking off HOOPTOBER with a little KING KONG KAIJU action!

    Instead of a traditional "review"... here are some notes I took:

    * This is a Rankin/Bass Production!!! WHAT?!? Yep. The people who brought you Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Claus and Burl Ives as a folk-singing Snowman... bring you: KING KONG ESCAPES!!

    * This is Rated G!!??!! Sure there's…
