Simply one of the greatest scripts of all time. MacMurray is a dream boat right up until he sees the score; Stanwyck likewise (they really are perfect for each other). Robinson is lovably neurotic. Everything silhouettes and shadows drenched in darkness.
Included in all sorts of lists, but probably most notably in the top 25 of my favorite films. Inherited a new shelf for my movies, and Alice picked this one to watch. She's a keeper. Better make sure she doesn't have an accident insurance policy in my name...
