Extremely resistible and yet... not.

Incredible. Also: A smart director could tweak this into the most devastating Americanization ever.
I gave this picture a “C” back in the day for AVC. I’ve suspected for a while that I missed the boat on it. More on Wednesday at thereveal.substack.com.
Was quite captivated by the film until I got to the end and had a BURN AFTER READING moment. “What have we learned, Palmer?”
All three segments are excellent, but wow that second one. I'll be thinking about that for a long time.
Maybe just a four-star movie, but I've added the extra half-star because I assume I will watch it dozens of times before I die.
"And the slaughter to come is probably beyond our imagining." So much to love about a movie that sends the audience out with a thought like this. Eight years old and it feels centuries away from what Hollywood has become.
I'm not even joking when I say this movie is an existential crisis for Hollywood and everyone involved in making it.
