A revisit of this was really sorely needed. watching free from any expectations of it tying up any loose ends i could better appreciate it as what it is: a david lynch movie, beautiful and terrifying. there are parts where you can tell they're editing and writing around who said they'd come back and scenes left out of the final cut, but as a whole it's emotionally and aesthetically overwhelming and moving.
