  This prequel brings a fun breath of fresh air into the CGI-heavy franchise. I still haven't seen 4 and 5, but I imagine they continue the downward trend in quality of the original 3 Transformers, and 3 was barely watchable to me. Someday I will confirm whether that is accurate. I would put this up there with the first entry.

  I also want to speak unfavorably toward John Cena's acting chops, but I don't know that it impacts my rating anyway.

  No disrespectful to Kane Hodder, but when he's the best actor in a movie, you're going to have a rough time. I didn't enjoy this at all. No thanks.

  Also, I'm supposed to think of these as high schoolers? I guess they've been held back a decade or more.

  I know this movie isn't serious, but I really did not have a good time.

  Yet another film where I saw the remake first. I did dig the remake well enough, and of course this one having cult status generally lived up to the hype. It might be a bit dated and rough around the edges, but overall about what I expected, which is good.

  I watched it on Blu-ray, but have to say the quality of the transfer was not great.

  Wow, what a watch. I am a bit surprised I was not as disturbed as I anticipated. I'm glad I had already eaten though, perhaps it would've messed up my appetite.
