Would it be too much to ask for the subject of any shot in the film to be in focus, in frame, or unobstructed? The style isn't unfamiliar to me, but in this case the camera work detracted from rather than enhanced the story.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The Man from Earth really blew my mind. In particular, I'm dumbfounded by the fact that this has an 8.0 on the IMDb with 95,000 ratings, because the movie is top to bottom shit.
In essence, a group of mediocre actors sit in a room, dressed like extras from a MacGyver episode with a production quality to match, and spew a bunch of college textbook bullshit at each other and their friend who claims to be a 14,000 year old…
What. is the worst comedy special I've ever seen. Not a single thing was funny, the theatrics are distracting and gimmicky, and why does he sing so much with such a shitty voice? I didn't know Bo before this, and I waited patiently for the opening bit to be over expecting the stand up would start right after. It never started and I feel misled. I hate Bo, I hate his ADHD antics, and his comedy is as loathsome as his delivery.
