Daryl’s review published on Letterboxd:
Oh come on, you heartless bastards. How can anyone give this a hard time?...
So it's not as good as the original. But that is mainly due to the fact that the whole initial "wow" factor is gone, but that's not its fault. The Lost World does what any great sequel needs to do, it cranks everything up to 11.
The special effects, mainly, hold up pretty well. The action is GREAT, to say the least. And you want tension? Jurassic Park 2 cranks up that tension. TO THE MAX. How about that glass shattering scene? We didn't get that in the first one did we??
You can tell Spielberg loved making this. There is some classic Spielberg, he is free to do what is his want here, and he does. THAT Goldblum introduction is genius.
And the best thing?
There is one less kid.
I won't be critiquing that ending ;)
