After some reflection and a second or third viewing, I miiiiight have to reconsider the rating, but this weekend all I'm thinking about is (a) my first movie in theaters since Birds of Prey and (b) my most anticipated film in at least two years. Oh, and (c) maybe the best movie musical since Little Shop of Horrors. Yes, I went there, and I will probably stay there. Just magic.

Scariest movie I've seen in a long time: perfectly paced, serious-minded explorer horror with a bleak, dark heart and characters well worth caring about, even the couple of them who are being hideously stupid right from the jump.
