Sarath Babu’s review published on Letterboxd:
Although the plot is relatively predictable, the way it is presented makes it stand out, particularly in 2022. The Woman King can be distinguished from similar but more traditional movies thanks to its strong emotional content. Along with having to keep up with Viola Davis, Mbedu also faces a number of difficult emotional situations. The main plot could be considered formulaic, and there might be one or two scenes that follow the typical blockbuster formula. The Woman King as a whole surprised me with its intimate and human approach, and the cast is so strong that there may be one or two nominations in the works.
