Sara Leitner’s review published on Letterboxd:
Like everyone else, I was impressed with the last line so succinctly explaining the entire movie. Though it made sense thematically, however, the final moments still wound up being pretty frustrating. There comes a certain point when the narrative is so dedicated to the theme that it makes the protagonists seem pathetic. That said, this movie shouldn’t be dismissed. It’s beautifully shot and very engrossing.
Also, the writing is interesting because it does a really good job of exploring social dynamics and how often we feel we know others simply based off the things they tell us. As the antagonist’s lies are unpeeled one by one, you share an unease with the protagonists as their fun vacay with new friends slowly becomes something else entirely.
