Sam Van Haren’s review published on Letterboxd:
BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE might be a little too long but I loved every minute of it. Please let this be the start of more regular output from Goddard, he’s just so damn good. Script is great and man can he shoot. The comparisons to a Tarantino are fair, but Goddard is doing something very different that’s entirely him.
Entire cast is fantastic. This might be the most I’ve liked Dakota Johnson yet, Bridges is fully engaged, and Hemsworth uses his charisma to be menacing with amazing results.
As everyone has said though, the standout is definitely Cynthia Erivo. She joins the ranks of people I want to see in everything. She’s a damn powerhouse.
