Ambitious to a fault, messy and unfocused, yet staggering, terrifying and most importantly deeply and alarmingly relevant.

not sure what to rate this because i both loved and hated it. the first act had me thinking i was watching a future cult classic, the second half derails into pure self indulgence in which aster's ego and self image take the film to that of pure lunacy and parody.

will rewatch but at first glance, once again, the only thing holding aster back from being great director and artist is how fucking badly he clearly wants it.
